The first concert in the Pepperell Classical Collective series is the “Ten String Festival” featuring veteran guitarist Dave McLellan and emerging cello virtuoso Seth MacLeod, who will present an exciting program of classic works in new arrangements. The duo will perform music by the Rococo cellist/composer Luigi Boccherini, the 19th-century genius Franz Schubert, and the King of Tango Nuevo, Astor Piazzolla, concluding with the iconic Seven Spanish Folk Songs by Manuel de Falla. The combination of cello and guitar creates a full, rich sound; listeners will be enveloped in a wash of music.
Music events are held in the intimate, smoke-free setting of the Art Gallery. Fantastic acoustics attract musicians and listeners from all over New England. All programs are free and open to the public, with coffee and light refreshments available. This concert series is partially funded by a grant from the Pepperell Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Additional funding is provided by the Friends of the Library.
Free and open to the public; no registration required.
